Patriots vs Lions Live Stream NFL Online . After facing the likes of Scott Tolzien and Christian Hackenberg in their first two games, the Lions’ defense will get a much better sense of where it stands with some guy named Brady in town. So far this preseason, the Lions have eight sacks and two takeaways, and have allowed just one last-second touchdown. The Patriots are bound to put up some points, but the Lions can build some momentum heading into the regular season with a strong performance.
Final tune up: Matthew Stafford will play about a half Friday in what should be his final tune-up for the regular season. Stafford is 10 of 13 passing for 120 yards with one touchdown and one interception this preseason, but he has looked rusty at times with his ball placement on several short routes (i.e., his interception off the hands of Marvin Jones vs. the Colts). With the Sept. 10 opener right around the corner, this is Stafford’s last chance to fine-tune his game. Patriots vs Lions Live
The Lions have a good position battle brewing at the nickel cornerback spot. Quandre Diggs has played well all summer after a disappointing 2016 season, but the Lions signed D.J. Hayden in free agency and drafted Jamal Agnew in the fifth round to challenge him for a job. Patriots vs Lions Live
With seven corners worthy of roster spots, the Lions may choose to go heavy at the position – or they could try and deal from their position of strength to bolster a shorthanded defensive line. Either way, that trio of corners will be in the spotlight Friday against slot receivers Julian Edelman, Danny Amendola and Austin Carr.Patriots vs Lions Live
Special assignment: The Lions are no different from most NFL teams in that kicking-game contributions will help determine the final few spots on their 53-man roster. Lions coach Jim Caldwell said the Patriots have “one of the best special-teams units in all of the league,” and as such players on the roster bubble can help or hurt their cause Friday. Charles Washington, Steve Longa, Tion Green and Keshawn Martin are four players to watch on the kick and punt units.
